Dear Chairman Arakaki and Members of the Council:
It is my pleasure to inform you that I have appointed the members of the County's
Environmental Management Commission to serve as the Solid Waste Advisory Committee.
This appointment is made to fulfill the requirements of Section 342G-22 of the Hawaii
Revised Statutes, and pursuant to Section 4-4 of the Hawaii County Charter.
The Solid Waste Advisory Committee reviews the County's Integrated Solid Waste
Management Plan as it is being developed, makes suggestions, and proposes any changes it
deems appropriate during the planning process. The members of the Environmental
Management Commission are eminently qualified to fulfill this role, and it gives me great
pleasure to appoint them to this important advisory committee.
