Dear Councilmen,
I urge you to vote against bill number sixty two. I never want to see food
irradiation plants on the Big Island of Hawaii. Until more information is gathered, I find
this risky. 1 believe that much boycotting of Hawaii products will result, hurting the island
more than benefiting.
Will the county have money Co train response teams? How will the irradiated food
impact human population? Will our waters be affected?
We need to have concrete answers to these questions before we allow food
irradiation to happen. The dangers and risks are simply to high!
