Re: Real Property Taxes
Aloha,
I read the recent account regarding the proposed increase in the minimum real property tax an would like to submit
my opinion.
Any reservations I have regarding this increase can be reduced if you will assure me that you have utilized or
considered the following measures to cut cost and /or increase revenuues.
Reduce mahouts to once a year.
Summarize and bill one owner of multiple properties.
Enforce existing rules. There are many properties with exemptions sent to out of town addresses
Enforce existing rules. There have been many dedicated and/ or ag use rates on fallow properties.
The private sector is making bone deep cost cuts. Have you?
If you are planning other changes in the current tax rules, please tell us now. Incremental revisions made without
being given the whole picture, even a general one, seems to be wrong to me.
