Lapsed funds from prior appropriations wil! be used to fund this reappropriation. ~`he Senior Center is situated on the former Waimea courthouse site which was turned over to the County by Executive Order No. 3818 on June 6, 2000 for elderly activities programs, public service, and cultural activities. It will undergo repairs and renovations to bring it up to current building code, health regulations, and accessibility requirements. EACKGROUND AND NSTIFICATION: The former Waimea courthouse site was turned over to the County of Hawaii by Executive Order No. 3818 on June 6, 2000 for elderly activities programs, public service, and cultural activities. Currently situated on the site is the former courthouse (presently occupied by the County's elderly activities division), the former tax office (presently occupied by the North Hawaii Hospice), the former fire station (presently occupied by the Waimea Arts Council), and the former cottage (presently vacant and formerly occupied by the State Department of Social Services and Housing). The repair and renovation project will bring the building up to current building code, health regulations, and accessibility requirements. Lapsed funds from the prior appropriation (Ordinance No. 99-16) will be used to fund this reappropriation. A supplemental appropriation of $150,000.00 was approved via Ordinance No. 00-6~1.
