Re: Operating Budget
Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating an
$1,690 monetary donation to the Fire ®epartment's Fire Protection OCE account.
Resolution No. 132-01 was recently adopted to authorize the acceptance of this
donation which was made by 1250 Oceanside Partners. The funds will be used to build
a structure to house the exercise equipment at the Keauhou Fire Station.
If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call the Fire Department.

B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The Keauhou Fire Station has exercise equipment for use by its
Fire personnel. This equipment provides a means for Fire
personnel to be, prepared for the physical challenges faced while
in the line of duty. Currently, there is little space within the
Keauhou Fire Station to permanently house the exercise equipment.
A donation of $1,690.00 was provided to the Hawaii County Fire
Department for the purpose of building a covered concrete slab at
the Keauhou Fire Station.
The check is being deposited in 3607.00, Contributions - Private
Service.

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF $1,690 TO TIIE
HAWAII COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT KEAUHOU FIRE STATION
WHEREAS, ]250 Oceanside Partners has donated $1,690 to the Hawaii County Fire
Department to provide a structure to house exercise equipment at the Keauhou Fire Station; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, provides that the
Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this
donation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED SY TIME COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the
Council accepts this donation of $1,690.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation be sent to 1250 Oceanside
Partners, 78-6831 Alii Drive, Suite K15, Kailua-Kona, Hawaii 9670.
