Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 135-01, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 135-O1, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication
No. 381, dated October 10, 2001, authorizes the acceptance of a donation from the Big Island
Interscholastic Federation.
The Big Island Interscholastic Federation has graciously donated an Elkay wheelchair-accessible
wall mounted water cooler to the Department of Parks ~ Recreation which will be placed at the
Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium. The value of this donation is estimated at $456.30.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to Mr. Roy H. Fujimoto, Executive Director, Big Island
Interscholastic Federation, P.O. Box 4160, Hilo, Hawaii 96720, acknowledging this generous
donation.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 135-01
and recommends its adoption.
