Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 137-01, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 137-01, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication
No. 383, dated October 10, 2001, authorizes the acceptance of a donation from the Kuki`o
Resorts.
The Kuki`o Resorts has graciously donated $3,000.00 to the Elderly Activities Division of the
Department of Parks & Recreation, to help cover most of the cost of the ballroom rental for the
Hawaii Kupuna Hula Festival, which was held on September 12-13, 2001.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to Ms. Christine Bean, Executive Assistant, Kuki`o Resorts,
P.O. Box 5349, Kailua-Kona, Hawaii 96745, acknowledging this generous donation.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. l 37-01
and recommends its adoption.
