Dear Chairman Arakaki and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to re-nominate Mr. Samuel Kawamura of Council District 3 to
succeed himself on the Hawaii County Environmental Management Commission.
His current term expires on December 31, 2001. Under Section 13-4-c of the
County Charter, he is eligible to succeed himself. Mr. Kawamura is a lifelong
resident of Hawaii and has demonstrated integrity, diligence, and competence
during his service on this commission. Mr. Kawamura is not affiliated with any
political party. If confirmed, he will serve a term to expire on December 31, 2006.
