MATS FOR TNT WAIAK~~a R~~R~A~'{ON CENTER
WHEREAS, the Shudokan Judo Club would like to donate tatami mats for the Waiakea Recreation
Center; and
WHEREAS, these tatami mats, which have an estimated value of $20,000, will be used by the
participants of the various martial arts programs as well as the senior citizen exercise classes; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on
behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks & Recreation recommends the acceptance of this donation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED SY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, the Council of the County of Hawaii
accepts this donation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation be sent to Mr. Michael Hayashi, Head
Instructor and Mr. Gregg Yonemori, Instructor, Shudokan Judo Club, 494 Kalanikoa Street, Unit B, Hilo,
Hawaii 96720, acknowledging this generous donation.
