Comments: Aloha County Council Members;
I understand there will be a discussion regarding limiting the process to file a felony charge. 1 feel
there is no problem with filing a felony charge if the person filing it (Asst County Attorney I
assume) feels there is enough evidence to justify a court hearing the matter. The county
attorney's office does not want to prosecute any case without merit. Just because the felony
charge is filed does not mean the suspect will be convicted. I wonder if there are cases where
the grand jury or preliminary hearing was waived, and a suspect received a unjust trial and was
falsely convicted. I believe we should leave the law enforcement and prosecution to the
professionals and let the jury or judge decide the guilt or innocence of a person. It seems to me
that too many steps in the middle tends to clog up our judicial system. It does keep attorney's
employed however.
