Dear Chairman Arakaki and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate the following individuals to the Hawaii County Liquor
Commission:
C®uncil district ~ Kelly Kurakazu, a lifelong resident of Hawaii, currently serves on the
Hawaii County Liquor Commission. His current term expires on December 31, 2001.
Under Section 13-4-c of the County Charter, he is eligible to succeed himself.
Mr. Kurakazu has demonstrated integrity, diligence, and competence during his service
on this commission. He is not affiliated with any political party and if confirmed, will
serve a term to expire on December 31, 2006.
Council District S Gregory Gauthier is afour-year resident of Hawaii and is currently a
business :agent for the ILWU. Mr. Gauthier is a member of the Hawaii f=ood Bank. He is
a former bartender with the Mauna Kea Seaeh Resort. He states that he is not affiliated
with any politics! party. if confirmed, he will serve a term to expire on December 31,
2005, replacing Pamela Hons.
