October 3, 1989, responding to .a question raised at the
Planning Committee's August 30, 1989 meeting as to
whether or not permits for "ohana" units, as defined in
Hawaii County Code, Chapter 25, Article 25 may be
allowed in condominium developments. States, based
upon the current state of the law, their response is
that property which is owned and developed pursuant to
H.R.S. Chapter 514A, the Condominium Property Act, may
receive ohana permits if the County Planning Department
has granted subdivision approval to the property.

September 27, 1989, responding to his letter of
September 21, 1989 (Comm. 924) to James Hamano
regarding submittal of required plans and ceasing of
all industrial activities on that property. Requests
that the applicant be allowed to continue his
activities until the final outcome of the pending zone
change application.
Comm. 992: Copy of letter to Sidney Fuke from Planning Director
Duane Kanuha dated October 16, 1989, responding to
Comm. 963. States they are not administratively able
to accommodate the applicant's request to defer the
conditions outlined in Ordinance No. 86 11 and cannot
allow him to continue the use of the adjacent property,
which is still zoned for Single Family Residential (RS)
use.
