Grant Period (Commencement & Completion): June 18, 2001 -July 27, 2001
Goals: To provide a healthy meal to qualified children of the Summer Fun program
through the DOE Summer Food Service Program.
Objectives: a. Establish a free lunch program at the following sites:
1) Kekuaokalani Gym, Kailua, Kona; 2) Hale Halawai Ctr, Kailua, Kona;
3) Yano Hall, Capt. Cook, Kona
b. To have the meals boxed and delivered to the respective sites.
Outcomes or Results: A free food service program was conducted for the six-week summer fun program
at the three desired sites. Meals were boxed and delivered to each site and enjoyed by the youngsters.
Federal funds were received in September and meals were paid for in October.
