Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 136, reports as follows:
Bill No. 136, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication No. 424,
dated November 6, 2001, amends Ordinance No. O 1-55, as amended, the Operating Budget,
ending June 30, 2002. The amendment is as follows:

The State Department of Transportation Public Affairs Office -Safe Community Program is
providing funds to hire security services for the Napo`opo`o Wharf during the evenings for a
two-month trial period. The purpose of this grant is to minimize or eliminate calls related to
alcohol & drug abuse, speeding and reckless driving, and violation of rules.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 136 and
recommends it pass first reading.
