Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 137, reports as follows:
Bill No. 137, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication No. 425,
dated November 6, 2001, amends Ordinance No. Ol -55, as amended, the Operating Budget,
ending June 30, 2002. The amendment is as follows:

The State of Hawaii Department of Attorney General Crime Prevention and Justice Assistance
Program is providing funds to enhance the ability of the Hawaii County Police Department to
conduct aggressive, comprehensive, and coordinated law enforcement activities to detect,
identify, access, and counter or neutralize clandestine drug manufacturing laboratories by
training officers and purchasing the proper equipment.
Bill No. 137, Draft 2 was referred to Your Committee via Communication No. 425.1, dated
November 30, 2001, from Director of Finance William Takaba, which reduces the dollar amount
of the original appropriation bill from $128,807 to $56,042.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 137, Draft 2,
and recommends it pass first reading.
