Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 148-01, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 148-01, transmitted jointly with Bill No. 142 by Director of Finance
William Takaba, via Communication No. 431, dated November 9, 2001, creates two Police
Evidence Specialist I temporary positions for the Hawaii County Police Department. This will
be a federally funded under the Violent Crime Unit grant.
Pursuant to Article V, Section 5-1.3(c), Hawaii County Charter, the Mayor has the power to
"create positions... for which appropriations have been made by the council...."
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 148-01
and recommends its adoption.
