Her current term expires on December 31, 2001. Under Section 13-4-c of the County Charter, she is eligible to succeed herself. Ms. Flattes is a member of the Democratic Party and if confirmed, she wil I serve a term to expire on December 31, 2006. Comm. 461: APPOINTMENTS OF KELLY KURAKAZU AND GREGORY GAUTHIER TO THE HAWAII COUNTY LIQUOR COMMISSION From Mayor Harry Kim, dated December 17, 2001, submitting for confirmation the following appointments to the Hawa`i County Liquor Commission: Kelly Kurakazu of Council District 4, who is a lifelong resident of Hawaii and currently serves on the Hawaii County Liquor Commission. His current term expires on December 31, 2001. He is not affiliated with any political party and if confirmed, will serve a term to expire on December 31, 2006. Gregory Gauthier of Council District 9, who is a four-year resident of 1-lawai`i and is currently a business agent for the ILWU. He states he is not affiliated with any political party and if confirmed, will serve a term to expire on December 31, 2005, replacing Pamela Hons. Comm. 355.1: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. Ol -55, AS AMENDED, THE OPERATING (Bill 144) BUDGET FOR THE COUNTY OF HAWAII FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2002 (by appropriating a $1,690 monetary donation to the Fire Department from 1250 Oceanside Partners) From Director of Finance William Takaba, dated November 27, 2001, transmitting the above bill. The funds will be used to build a structure to house the exercise equipment at the Keauhou Fire Station. Comm. 436: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 01-56, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO (Bill 145) PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS AND FINANCING THEREOF FOR THE FISCAL YEAR JULY 1, 2001 TO JUNE 30, 2002 (by adding the Ho'okena Beach Park Improvement project for $125,000 to the Ca~tal Budget) From Director of Finance William Takaba, dated November 27, 2001, transmitting the above bill. Lapsed funds from the prior appropriation will be used to fund this reappropriation. This project will include upgrading of camping, picnicking, accessibility and parking facilities, infrastructure upgrading and renovation of the former restroom building. FC-25 Page 3 January 8, 2002 Comm. 437: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 01-56, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO (Bill 146) PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS AND FINANCING THEREOF FOR THE FISCAL YEAR JULY 1, 2001 TO JUNE 30, 2002 (by adding the Miloli'i Beach Park Improvement project for $66,846 to the Capital Budget) From Director of Finance William Takaba, dated November 27, 2001, transmitting the above bill. Lapsed funds from prior appropriations will be used to fund this reappropriation. A State Department of I-Iealth grant for wastewater system upgrading will also be used to supplement this reappropriation. This project will bring the park's restroom up to current building code, health regulations and accessibility requirements. Comm. 438: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 01-56, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO (Bill 147) PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS AND FINANCING THEREOF FOR THE FISCAL YEAR JULY 1, 2001 TO JUNE 30, 2002 (by adding the Waimea Senior Center Renovation project for $16,055 to the Capital Budget) From Director of Finance William Takaba, dated November 27, 2001, transmitting the above bill. Lapsed funds from prior appropriations will be used to fund this reappropriation. The Senior Center is situated on the former Waimea courthouse site which was turned over to the County by Executive Order for elderly activities programs, public service and cultural activities. It will undergo repairs and renovations to bring it up to current building code, health regulations and accessibility requirements. Comm. 446: RESOLUTION FOR THE DISPOSITION OF A HOUSE LOCATED AT AHALANUI PARK (Res. 153-O1) (in Puna~TO HO'OULU LAHUI, INC., A HAWAII NONPROFIT CORPORATION From Director of Finance William Takaba, dated December 3, 2001, transmitting the above resolution. The Ahalanui Park Master Plan to develop this park calls for the removal of an existing house. The removal and relocation costs of $15,000 will be provided from funds received from the Federal Emergency Management Act (FEMA) for this development. Comm. 451: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 01-56, AS AMENDED, RELATING (Bill 148) TO PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS AND FINANCING THEREOF FOR THE FISCAL YEAR JULY 1, 2001 TO JUNE 30, 2002 (to appropriate $100,000 of federal funds for the Onomea Camp Road Bridge Replacement project) From Director of Finance William Takaba, dated December 10, 2001, transmitting the above bill. This project proposes to replace an existing wooden bridge that is structurally and functionally deficient with a new concrete bridge that meets current standards. The County's portion for this project has already been allotted.
