Aloha Chairman Arakaki and Council Members:
As a kanaka maoli, I strongly support resolution number
149-01.
The presence of ancient Hawaiian culture is evidenced by
the multitude of ancient features and sites both above
ground and below that have lain relatively untouched since
ancient times. Burial grounds and trails must be protected
from development.
By annexing all of these lands to the Park, the natural
beauty of the Park would be enhanced and scenic value
increased. Most important is the preservation of ancient
field systems, burial grounds and trails.
