Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 108, reports as follows:
Bill No. 108, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication No. 357,
dated September 17, 2001, amends Ordinance No. 01-56, as amended, the Capital Budget ending
June 30, 2002, by reappropriating lapsed fuel tax funds and establishing the following district
appropriations:
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
DISTRICT AMOUNT
TEA Projects $ 943,011.10
Puna $ 360,603.33
South Hilo $ 259,143.72
North Kona $ 185,748.67
TOTAL: $1,748,506.82
This ordinance reappropriates the lapsed 1992-94 and 1.998-2000 fuel tax district appropriations
as shown on Exhibit A. Because the original amounts were established by formula and to
maintain equity, lapsed district funds would be reappropriated back to their respective districts.
Allotments from these district appropriations shall be made to the specific projects listed on
Exhibit B.

Funds for these projects shall be provided from the following accounts of the Capital Project
Fund:
2271.24 Fund Balance—Fuel Tax Increase 1992-94 $ 191,253.54
2271.27 Fund Balance—Fuel Tax Increase 1998-2000 $1,557,253.28
TOTAL: $1,748,506.82
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purposes and intent of Bill No. 108 and
recommends it pass first reading.
