SUBJ: Appropriations to Non-Profit Agencies `
We note that there are a number of proposals being
initiated by the County Council which provides funds to
non-profit organizations. Attached is a copy of
Article 25, Hawaii County Code, relating to appropriation
of funds to non-profit organizations.
Article 25 provides for certain procedures be followed in
the awarding of grants and purchase of services.
Article 25 also limits the amount of funds ($900,000) to
be made available.
Before we allow any additional funds to be expended, we
will be reviewing said appropriations for compliance with
Article 25.
