Your Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations, to which was referred
Communication No. 360 and attached Bill No. 111 reports as follows:
The purpose of Bill No. 111 is to amend various sections of the Hawaii County Code 1983
(1995 Edition) by replacing references to "Chief Engineer" with "Director of Public Works".
Communication No. 360 dated September 24, 2001, is from Mayor Harry Kim transmitting Bill
No. 111 for the Council's review and consideration. In his letter, Mayor Kim states that this
amendment will bring the Code into conformance with the Charter of the County of Hawaii as
amended by the voters in November 2000.
Your Committee is in accordance with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 111 and recommends
that it pass first reading.
