REFERRAL Comm. 440: HIEDB'S REQUEST TO MAKE A PRESENTATION REGARDING THEIR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT REVIEW From Paula Z. Helfrich, President, Hawaii Island Economic Development Board, dated December 6, 2001, requesting an opportunity to give a brief overview of economic development opportunities and initiatives which have been undertaken during the last year. States since the tragic events of September 11, 2001, they have worked closely with the County to avoid duplication and have shared resources to ensure a rapid return to economic stability for the benefit of our island-wide community. For information, they have also enclosed a copy of their recently completed "Annual Report" (and will provide a brief overview of the report's highlights) and a "White Paper on Agricultural Tourism", which will be a major focus of their presentation.
