Ho'oulu L~hui is anon-profit org boat (501~C3), forgned in 1995, with the purpose
of awak~niitg I-~awaiian culture, values, beliefs and lifestyle in partnership with the
cozrtntunity to achieve ttatity, harntoaty and total well-being (1®kalti).
T`lte mane, 1°io'oulu ~hui coanes frown King ICalakaua's motto, and it uteaats the
growing or nurturing of a nation or people, specifically, the I~awaiian nation and
people. i-~o'oulu L,~hui, the orgaatixatioat, is the result of a grassroots effort to restore
and care for wahi pane (historically significant l-iawaiian cultural sites) in F~na along
with the dues and lifestyle of the indigenous people (Ialtui) wlto established these
sites. 'I~te 'ili (land division) of l~u°ala'a is the piko or center of l~o'oulu I~ltui.
°I'he goals of l~o'oulu I~hui are: 'I1te restoration and ananageanent of l~awaiian cultural
sites; the developaatent and operation of a ~iawaiian cultural education center; the self-
sufficienc~ ~f Ho'oulu T~hui through culturally appropriate economic developanent
ventures; and collaboratioat with other agencies and orgaati~ations.

4. Site for mental, physical and spiritual health (learning Hawaiian protocol, etcJ
5. Restoration of a I°iawaiian cultural aa+ea (I-Iawaiian village, fashing ground)
S. lxperiential educations site (food preparation anti cultivation, agriculture, etc.)
