Dear Friends,
We urge you to vote in favor of resolution 155 U 1, opposing deployment of
SURTASS LFA. Scientific evidence shows that LFA sonar is hazardous to whales, dolphins
and other forms of marine life, including human swimmers.
LFA is unnecessary because the U, S.Navy has two passive sonar systems to detect
client submarines. These passive systems do not harm marine life.
Deployment of LFA would have a devastating effect on the ocean and thus on
Hawai'i's economy.

who depend on it.
