RESOLUTION NO. JL64 02 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF REAL PROPERTY FROM KIKUYO KANEMOTO, TAX MAP KEY (3)2-3-019:018. WHEREAS, KIKUYO KANEMOTO is the owner of real property in Kukuau, District of South Hilo, County and State of Hawaii, specifically Tax Map Key (3)2-3-019:018, being more particularly described in the attached quitclaim deed (Exhibit "A") and delineated on Exhibit `B" attached hereto; and WHEREAS, the bulk of this property and all of the frontage sits within the Alenaio Stream Flood Control Channel and this property is of no present or foreseeable future use to Mrs. Kanemoto; and WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii is the owner of the Alenaio Stream Flood Control Channel and has in the past had to condemn property for this project; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Kanemoto has graciously agreed to donate this property to the County of Hawaii; and WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter 2000 provides that the Council, on behalf of the County of Hawaii, may accept gifts or donations of real property. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter 2000, the County of Hawaii accepts the donation of real property, identified as Tax Map Key (3)2-3-019:018, consisting of 15,200 square feet, from Kikuyo Kanemoto. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation be sent to Kikuyo Kanemoto.
