Re: Adjustments for Employees Covered by Chapter 77, HRS
In accordance with Section 89C-5, HRS, attached for council action is a resolution to approve
the cost items agreed upon by the employers for excluded managerial employees covered by
Chapter 77, HRS. The proposed adjustments cover the period from July 1, 1999 through
June 30, 2003.
The cost items for fiscal year 2002 area 4.0% across-the-board increase as of July 2, 2001, a
continuation ofwithin-range progressions, and implementation of a "shredding" plan. This
"shredding" plan is similar to the plan implemented for EU13. The cost items for fiscal year
2003 area 5.0% wage increase and/or performance incentives. Attached as an exhibit to the
resolution is a schedule based on data provided by the Department of Civil Service showing the
total cost of these adjustments that will be paid out next fiscal year. The costs relating to the
fiscal year ending June 30, 2002 will be paid retroactive no sooner than July 15, 2002.
