RESOLUTION APPROVING THE COST ADJUSTMENTS AGREED UPON BY THE
EMPLOYERS FOR EXCLUDED MANAGERIAL EMPLOYEES COVERED BY
CHAPTER 77, HAWAII REVISED STATUTES.
WHEREAS, Section 89C-3 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes relating to public officers
and employees excluded from collective bargaining permits the directors of personnel services of
the State and counties (serving as representatives of their respective chief executives) and the
administrative director of the courts (serving as representative of the chief justice) to decide by
majority vote on adjustments to be made for officers and employees covered under Chapter 77,
HRS; and
WHEREAS, Section 89C-5 requires that such adjustments which constitute cost items are
subject to appropriations by appropriate legislative bodies; and
WHEREAS, agreement has been reached among the representatives of the State and
counties for certain adjustments to be made for officers and employees covered by Chapter 77,
HRS, and the cost items included in the proposed adjustment are shown on the attached exhibit;
and
WHEREAS, the total cost to the County of Hawaii for the two fiscal years July 1, 2001
through June 30, 2003 as shown in the exhibit attached to this resolution will be $1,272,654; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 89C-5, HRS, cost items are subject to appropriation by
the respective legislative bodies.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that the cost items included in this proposed adjustment as shown on the attached
exhibit are approved and shall be paid no sooner than July 15, 2002.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this Resolution be forwarded to the
Department of Civil Service and the Department of Finance.
