SUBJECT: Amended "Draft 2" of esolution No. 169-02
Attached please find a revised "Draft 2" of Resolution No. 169-02, a resolution encouraging
community kokua and donations to support the participation of Bruddah Kuz in the 8"' Annual
Arizona Aloha Festival.
This amended draft deletes the eighth "Whereas" clause (shown below) in its entirety.
[WHEREAS, airfare, hotel, van and meal expenses for the six band
members and one hula dancer comprising the Brzsddah Kuz ohana slated to
perform in the 8'h Annual Arizona Aloha Festival are budgeted at $11,000, for
which business and community donations are urgently needed.]
Deletion of this paragraph is intended to preclude any objectionable material referencing
specific cost items and the appearance of Council endorsement of what is a privately
determined travel/expense budget.
I hope this amendment is accepted by my colleagues. This resolution's intent is the
expression of goodwill for Bruddah Kuz and the representation of homegrown performers
at an event generating positive regard and aloha for our island.
