Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 162-02, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 162-02, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication
No. 467, dated December 26, 2001, authorizes the acceptance of a donation from Mr. Wayne
Yamada and a group of people from the community.
Mr. Wayne Yamada and a group of people from the community have graciously donated $78.00
to the Department of Parks & Recreation to enhance to recreational programs at Andrews Gym.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to Mr. Wayne Yamada, 42 Ho`olaulea Street, Hilo, Hawaii
96720, acknowledging this generous donation.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 162-02
and recommends its adoption.
