Dear Chairman Arakaki and Council Members:
Regarding Communication X499 on the February 5, 2002 agenda for the Council
Committee on Finance, the appointment of Kaliko Chun to the Salary
Commission is in error.
The term of Commissioner Rodney Watanabe of District 7 expires on
December 31, 2002. Therefiore, there is no vacancy for County District 7. Due to
the error, I would like to request that Mayor Kim's nomination of Ms. Chun be
rescinded.
