Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance adding the ADA Curb Ramp Compliance Program,
Phase II project for $1,700,000 to the Capital budget. This project will include the
replacement of existing nonconforming curb ramps with curb ramps that meet ADA
standards.

A. REQUEST:
Amendment to Ordinance Bill 01-56 to add ADA Curb Ramp Compliance
Program, Phase II, Job No. P-3550. Funds of $1,700,000.00 are being
requested. Work will include replacement of existing nonconforming curb
ramps with curb ramps that meet ADA standards.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
This project is necessary to comply with a settlement agreement
connected with Russel, et al. v. County of Hawaii. The managing
director has set aside funds for this project.
