Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 166-02, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 166-02, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication
No. 484, dated January 10, 2002, authorizes the acceptance of a donation from Mr. Ross Miyose.
Mr. Ross Miyose has graciously donated an African Spur Thighed Tortoise for educational and
display purposes to the Department of Parks & Recreation for the Pana`ewa Rainforest Zoo. The
value of this donation is estimated at $100.00.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the
County, may ;zccept gifts or donations of personal property.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to Mr. Ross Miyose, 45 Ho`olaulea Street, Hilo, Hawaii
96720, acknowledging this generous donation.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 166-02
and recommends its adoption.
