Re: Resolution for amulti-year contract amendment
Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation to amend
the current contract of the golf cart operations at the Hilo Municipal Golf Course which
will expire on May 31, 2002. The amendment to the contract will be for a twelve (12)
month extension for the period June 1, 2002 to May 31, 2003. The extension is
necessary to allow time for the Departments of Parks & Recreation and Finance to
evaluate specifications and to combine the contract agreements for the golf carts, pro
shop, and driving range into one bid for services to begin on June 1, 2003.

A. REQUIEST:
Approval to amend to extend the following contract for an additional 12 months:
- Sid #1592 FURNISHING AND DELIVERING GOLF CARTS ON A RENTAL BASIS AND PROVIDE
MANAGEMENT AND PERSONNEL FOR OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE OF GOLF CARTS
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION SSE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The current golf cart contract was approved from the period June 1, 1996 to May 31, 2002. The extension
for the contract will be for the period June 1, 2002 to May 31, 2003.
The 12 month extension for the contract is necessary to allow the Department of Parks and Recreation and
the Department of Finance time to evaluate specifications and combine contract agreements for the golf
carts, pro shop,and driving range. These new specifications will be issued as one bid for services to begin
June 1, 2003.
