WHBREAS, the Department of Parks & Recreation wishes to amend the current contract of the golf
cart operations at the Hilo Municipal Golf Course which will expire on May 31, 2002; and
WH~RE,~eS, the amendment to the contract will be for a twelve (12) month extension; for the period
June 1, 2002 to May 31, 2003; and
WH~R~,AS, the twelve (12) month extension to the contract is necessary to allow time for the
Departments of Parks & Recreation and Finance to evaluate specifications and combine contract agreements
for the golf carts, pro shop, and driving range and then issue one bid for services to begin on June 1, 2003;
and
WH~R~AS, Section 10-11 of the Hawaii County Charter requires that any contract, lease or other
obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or more than one fiscal year
be approved by resolution.
NOW, TFi~RI~FOR~, ~B t`T` RESOLV~~A IBY TIFF COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OI~ IHl.A96dlAl`I that in
accordance with Section 10-11 of the Hawaii County Charter, the Department of Parks & Recreation is
authorized to extend their contract for the goof cart operations at the Hilo Municipal Golf Course by twelve (12)
months.
