AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24, OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983
(1995 EDITION), RELATING TO VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC.
BE IT ORDAINED EY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 24, article 10, division 2, section 24-264, schedule 12 (stop
intersections), subsection (c) South Hilo, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (1995 edition), is
amended by deleting the following item:
[(20) Entering Ululani Street from Kukuau Street.]
SECTION 2. Chapter 24, article 10, division 2, section 24-264, schedule 12 (stop
intersections), subsection (c) South Hilo, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (1995 edition), is
further amended by adding the following to be appropriately numbered and to read as follows:
~ Kukuau Street, both approaches to Kapiolani Street.
~ Kukua.u Street, both approaches to Kino`ole Street.
~ Kukuau Street, both. approaches to Komohana Street.
~ Kukuau Street, both approaches to Mohouli Street.
~ Kukuau Street, both approaches to Ululani Street.
SECTION 3. Chapter 24, article 10, division 2, section 24-266, schedule 14 (through
streets), subsection (c) South Hilo, item (47), of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (1995 edition), is
amended to read as follows:
(47) Kukuau Street, from [Kapiolani Street] Kilauea Avenue to its [end in the maul~a
direction.] southern terminus, except at Kino`ole Street, Ululani Street, Kapiolani
Street Komohana Street and Mohouli Street.

SECTION 4. Chapter 24, article 10, division 2, section 24-266, schedule 14 (through
streets), subsection (c) South Hilo, item (63), of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (1995 edition), is
amended to read as follows:
(63) Mohouli Street, from Kilauea Avenue to Kaumana Drive, except at Kino`ole
Street[.] and Komohana Street.
SECTION 5. Material to be repealed is bracketed. New material is underscored. In
printing this ordinance, the brackets, bracketed material and underscoring need not be included.
SECTION 6. If any provision of this ordinance, or the application thereof to any person
or circumstance, is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications
of the ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provision or application, and to
this end, the provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable.
SECTION 7. This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
