RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING BIG ISLAND TOYOTA, INC. TO EXTEND THE
PUBLIC SEWER TO WIWO`OLE STREET, WAIAKEA, SOUTH HILO, HAWAII
WHEREAS, applicant Big Island Toyota, Inc. has requested to extend the sewer
in accordance with Section 21-26, Hawaii County Code; and
WHEREAS, Attachment "A" is the application from Big Island Toyota, Inc. with
construction plans as supporting documentation; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works and the Acting Director of
Environmental Management have recommended approval of the extension; and
WHEREAS, applicant Big Island Toyota, Inc. has proposed to comply with
Section 21-28(a), Hawaii County Code, regarding the payment of costs; and
WHEREAS, sewer extensions are beneficial to the community by eliminating
existing cesspools and reducing the amount of pollutants reaching the groundwater and
the coastal waters, resulting in a cleaner, healthier environment; and
WHEREAS, Section 21-26.1, Hawaii County Code, requires that the council
approve all sewer extensions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
COUNTY OF HAWAII that the sewer extension to Wiwo`ole Street, Waiakea, South
Hilo, Hawaii by Big Island Toyota, Inc. is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER IZESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii transmits
copies of this resolution to the Departments of Finance, Public Works and Environmental
Management.
