Dear Chairman Arakaki and Council Members:
It is my p4easure to nominate Mr. Peter L. Hendricks of Council District 9 to the Hawaii
County I~olice Commission. Mr. Hendricks is a 37-year resident of Hawaii.
Mr. Hendricks was an Information Specialist with the Department of Land and Natural
Resources, (DLNR), Division of Aquatic Resources and is now retired. He currently
chairs the YMCA Aquatics Committee, is a reading tutor for the Waimea E4ementary
School, aboard- member for the Kawaihae Canoe Club and a volunteer with the Di-NR,
Division ofi Aquatic Resources. He is the education coordinator for Ulu La'au (Waimea
Nature Park), the current chair of the Waimea Community Association (V1lCA), P4anning
and Design Review Committee and also served as the past president of WCA.
Mr. Hendricks states that he is not affiliated with any political party. If confirmed, he will
fill a vacancy created by the expiration of Mr. Clarence Mills' term, and will serve a term
to expire on December 31.2006.
