Re: Operating Budget
Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating an
additional $8,160 into the Coordinated Services Purchases of Services account. The State
of Hawaii Department of Human Services has increased the Chore Agreement for the
County of Hawaii. These funds will enable the Coordinated Services staff to provide in-
home chore services to an increased number of seniors.

B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION FUSE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED}:
The Department of Human Services increased the Chore Agreement for Hawaii County by $8,160 for the
period 1/1/02 - 6130/02. ($4,590 for West I-lawai'i and $3,570 for East Hawaii) This additional amount in
State grant funds will supplement the current salaries and wage budget of Coordinated Services. It will
enable Coordinated- Services staff to provide in-home chore services (routine housecleaning, laundry, meal
preparation, marketing, shopping assistance, personal care, errand and escort services) to an increased
number of seniors.
