Question: Since when is the County in the bu.iness of giving tax dollar to individuals in fur-profit
business venwres, particularly sonuthing us unpopular and conU'over.,ial as food irradiation? Lf this
is a prardent, a'e arc certain there arc hundreds of other small, nicdium, and large businesses who
would be more than happy to get on their own S2•million Bras-y train.
Question', R'here is the Hawaiian Beaches tennis court Mayor Yamashirn claimed credit for in
October 1996 (prior to elccUOn Jay)? The bulldozers were there working when we personally
drove down to verity its (potential furore) existence m early Novemher 1996. An innpecnrnt of tha
site in April 1997 shows no activity, save [he jungle growing back to reclaim the "courts." Luck of
funds? There appears ro be 52 million avuiL~ble to give to pm ate enterprise.
Question: Why are private citizens and taxpayers muintainmg County parks? For the second year
children (St. Joseph School pupds) were par into sen~itudc clewing Lihuokalani Park because the
County apparently has m;ufficient manpower w do [he job itself. Leek of funds? Thcrc appear> to
be 52 mlliou available to give to private enterprise.

Airport? This band-aid rrpuirjob looks pathetic and reflects badly on Hilu's already run-down
image. Can't gee at least glee the appearance of having our as wgcther'~ State doesn't have the
