Your Committee on Fhnance, to which was referred Communication No. 500, reports as follows:
Communication No. X00, transmitted by Mayor Harry Kim, dated January 23, 2002, nominates
Mr. James U.C. Low ~f Council District 3 to the Hawaii County Tax Board of Review.
A lifelong resident of iHawai`i, Mr. James U.C. Low is retired General Manager of the Sun Sun
Lau Restaurant. He i a Korean War Veteran, the member of the Waiakea Lions Club, and has
served as a District G vernor for the Lions Club International. Of no political party affiliation,
he will serve a term t end December 3 l , 2006.
Pursuant to Section 1 ~-96, Hawai` i County Code, there is created a board of review for the
county which shall ccsist of five members...appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the
Council as provided b~,~ the Hawaii County Charter.
Mr. James U.C. Low did not attend today's meeting; however, Your Committee requested his
presence at the next C~~ouncil meeting.
Your Committee on Finance recommends confirmation of Mr. James U.C. Low to the Hawaii
County Tax Board of'jZeview to serve a term ending December 31, 2006.
