Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 166, reports as follows:
Bill No. 166, transmitted b Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication No. 496,
dated January 16, 2002, amends Ordinance No. O 1-55. as amended, the Operating Budget,
ending .Tune 30, 2002. Thel amendment is as follows:

The State Department of Transportation Public Affairs Office -Safe Community Program is
providing these funds to hi#~e a traffic crash reconstruction expert who will assist in at least
twelve fatal collision invesCigations. This will improve the required information submitted to the
State Department of Transportation's Fatal Analysis Reporting System.
During its discussion, Your Committee learned that the funds will be primarily used for, but not
be limited to, alcohol-related collisions.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 166 and
recommends it pass first reading.
