fie: Resolution to Change Status of Positions
inclosed is a resolution to change the forty (40) School Crossing Guards (Hourly)
Temporary) positions to permanent status. This conversion will reduce the repetitive
paperwork generated by the annual rehiring and separation process and will develop a
more stable and better workforce.

Convert 40 School Crossing Guard TEMP positions to permanent.
8. SACKGRQUND AND JI~STIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED)
Eliminate annual recruitment, screening, interviewing, and physical exams, unless a vacancy
occurs.
Develop a stable workforce and retain better employees.
Reduce tune spend on annual cash in lieu of vacation auditing and processing for payments
for each guard.
Allow the employees to accrue vacation and sick leave like all other County positions ~a~ithin
the Salary Ordinance on a continuing basis, rather than forfeiting each fiscal yewr.
Reduce repetitive paperwork for each employee generated by the rehiring and separation
process.
