"MAHALO, COUNCIL" -RALLY FOR BILL #62
For three long years, we residents of Hawaii Island have watched
our economic stability and social systems deteriorate with the
passing of the sugar plantations. Now it is time to celebrate
courage, commitment and perseverance as our County Council takes
a forward step in partnership with our agricultural producers,
processors, distributors and community leaders. We thank them for
their sunvort of Bill #62P
All around our island, we're seeing thousands of acres of plantation
lands transformed into diversified agricultural enterprises through
the hard work and dedication of hundreds of entrepreneurs,
experienced farmers and ranchers and displaced sugar workers.
They are learning to grow new and traditional crops and products
for dozens of local and export markets, to create jobs fox their
neighbors, and to ensure their families' security and island life-style.
Thev need a comprehensive~gost harvest treatment fa ility!~
We are rallying to honor that "can-do" spirit, to thank the County
Council for their vision, and support the Mayor's request for a
public/private partnership post-harvest treatment facility and
passage of Bill #62. Join the Rally!!
