Resolution authorizing the Corporation Counsel, and his authorized representatives, to enter into an agreement with the individually named parties, who are officials and employees of the County of Hawaii, to represent them in the civil action entitled Patrick Leo Kahawaiola'a, et al. vs. United States of America, et al., Civil No. 01-009773 SPK/LEK We further request that the resolutions be waived past committee meetings. Because Mayor Harry Kim is named in his official capacity as a defendant in the above- referenced platter, we provided a provision that the Managing Director or other authorized representative of Mayor Harry Kim may execute the agreement for representation. The subject matter of this resolution was discussed with the County Council during the executive session held on January 9, 2002. United States of America, et al., Civil No. O l -009773 SPK/LEK Pursuant to Section 1(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of Hawai"i, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be waived from the Committee on Finance to the full Council for immediate action. In reviewing this matter, timely approval is crucial It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and the matter placed onto the next Council agenda for review.
