SUBJECT: TRAFFIC CODE AMENDMENT
COUNTY OF HAWAII TRAFFIC SIGNAL SYSTEMS
WAIANUENUE AVENUE/RICO MEDICAL CENTER
The traffic signal system at this location was deactivated on August 22, 2000 because it did not meet the
warrants in the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, (MUTCD). An embedded lighting system
for the existing crosswalk was installed and activated on August 22, 2000 for pedestrians crossing
Waianuenue Avenue between the parking lot and the Hilo Medical Center.
We ask for your review and consideration for adoption of the subject amendment. Should you have any
