WHEREAS, Brewer Environmental Industries, LLC (BEI) would like to donate nearly $70,000 worth of
Hazmat response equipment to the Hawaii County Fire Department as part of its settlement agreement with
the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA); and
WH1=R0=AS, this equipment will improve the ability of the Fire Department to assess hazardous material
risk and to respond to chemical spills; and
WHIlREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on
behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this donation.
NOW, THEREFORE, 13E IT RESOLVE® 03Y TH1= COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, the Council of the County of Hawaii
accepts this donation.
IBE IT FURTHI=R RIESOLVED that a letter of appreciation be sent to Mr. Stephen W. Knox, President,
Brewer Environmental Industries, LLC, 311 Pacific Street, Honolulu, Hawaii 96817, acknowledging this
generous donation.
