O .~~1~U~°i~iV CR~,~~iiVG T'W€~ (2) ~~Pll~°l( i~R®SClJ1°IiVCa~ ,9~T`~'~i?i~$~Y ~tl() ~~~lTi~i~~ F~i~ Ti ®FFIC ®F Ti~~ PR®S~Cl1TIiVCa T~`~ i~i~ ~Y WH~~EAS, the U.S. Department of Justice has awarded the Community Gun Violence Prosecution Program Grant monies to the Oftice of the Prosecuting Attorney; and WHEREAS, these federal funds, supplemented by the State's Criminal Career Program Grant, will provide for the creation of two (2) Deputy Prosecuting Attorney (Temporary) positions; one in the Hilo office and one in the Kona office; and WHEREAS, these positions will be assigned to facilitate the rapid, responsive, and effective prosecution of serious violent crimes involving guns; and W~fEI~EAS, Article V, Section 5-1.3(c) of the Hawaii County Charter states that the hllayor has the power to "Create positions...fortyhich appropriations have been made by the council...".
