Your Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations, to which was referred
Communication No. 519 and attached Bill No. 176 reports as follows:
The purpose of Bill No. 176 is to amend Chapter 24 of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (1995
Edition), relating to Vehicles and Traffic by adding stop intersections on Kukuau Street to
accommodate the Mohouli Street Extension Project.
Communication No. 519, dated February 7, 2002, is from Deputy Director Ronald Ueoka,
Department of Public Works, transmitting Bill No. 176 for the Council's review and
consideration. In his letter, Mr. iJeoka states that these amendments, if passed by the County
Council, will address needed corrections to "Stop Intersections" and "Through Streets" sections
of the Traffic Code because of the Mohouli Street Extension project.
No discussion occurred during the meeting.
Your Committee is in accordance with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 176 and recommends
that it pass first reading.
