Dear Marie,
Thank you for your letter of March 6, 2002 and your offer to present your museum's findings
on the economic impact of the Lyman Museum Elderhostel Program to the Hawai` i County
Council. It is my sense that the sort of quietly orchestrated educational tourism your program
facilitates has much to teach us about trends in visitor interests and preferences.
My committee on Human Services and Economic Development would be most happy to
schedule your joint presentation with Harold Luscomb and Donna Feliciano at its next regularly
scheduled meeting on Tuesday, April 30, 2002. Typically, our committee meets in the afternoon.
Presentations customarily are about one-half hour long, followed by questions from council
members. Our committee clerk, Rory Flynn (961-8564), will notify you of the exact meeting
time when the agendas of all other council committees are set for that day.
I am most appreciative of your interest in sharing your program's experience and lessons with
the County Council and the viewing public. I look forward to meeting you on Apri130`n
