NAMING OF STREETS IN THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, STATE OF HAWAII
WHEREAS, the Council of the County of Hawaii is authorized to adopt the street names of
unnamed roadways in the County of Hawaii pursuant to Section 22-35, Article 2, Chapter 22,
Relating to Streets and Sidewalks and Section 23-49, Chapter 23, Relating to Subdivisions Hawaii
County Code; and
WHERE_~S, the Planning Commission at its regular meeting of February 25, 2002, approved
the name for the certain. unnamed roadway within the Keauhou View Estates Subdivision, Unit I
Phases IV, V & VI, I'mo' oehoe 3r~ ~ 4`~', Laaloa 1S` & 2°d, Kapalaalaea ls`, North Kona, I-Iawai`i; now
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that said
roadway, as indicated on Exhibit "A" of this Resolution, be named as follows:
Road Name Meaning
A Laaloa Avenue - continuation of existing street
B Ho`olaupa`i Street - "to bring forth in great abundance any good thing"
C M~thiehiN Street - "pleasant and comfortable, as in weather"
D Lupalupa Way - "luxuriant; lush growth
E Ho`ohonua Court - "firmly established"
F Ho`oiluaa Court - "inherited estate"
G Ko`ako`a Street - "well-supplied, rich"
H Queen Kalama Avenue - continuation of existing street
